NOTICE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING
Notice is hereby given that an Extraordinary General Meeting of Wooplaw Community Woodlands will be held at;
Blainslie Village Hall, Blainslie, Galashiels, TD1 2PR on Sunday 26 July 2026 at 1pm
to consider and, if thought fit, pass the following resolution(s).
Agenda
1. Welcome and Opening of the Meeting
2. Purpose of Meeting – Wooplaw Community Woodlands has experienced a downturn in support in recent years but is now reviving under a new Board. The intention is to build on the good work of past and existing volunteers and members and sustain this important community asset and the legacy of Tim Stead. This meeting is to introduce and confirm the appointment of the Officers of the new Board.
3. Resolutions – As per the Memorandum & Articles of Association of Wooplaw Community Woodlands dated 14 September 2000, a vote of Members is required to approve the appointment of Officers. The following are acting Officers;
Jim Knight and David Peace, Co-Chairs
John Keefe, Treasurer
Karen Woods, Secretary to the Board
Vote will be by a show of hands of Members
4. Any Other Business – All are invited to join Members at Wooplaw Woods immediately following this meeting to see and hear about plans for the future.
5. All are invited to become Members and/or volunteer to support Wooplaw Community Woodlands to ensure that this important asset is sustained for the next generation and beyond
6. Closure of Meeting
Notes:
- A member entitled to attend and vote is entitled to appoint a proxy to attend, speak, and vote on their behalf. If proxy votes are not notified when voting, they will not be counted.
- The proxy should be a member of the company.
